Risk of complications
The risk of a complication during or after the treatment is extremely small. Possible complications can be: excessive blood loss or damage to the uterus. Supplementary treatment in a general hospital may be necessary in such a case (0.2%).
In addition, it may occur that an early pregnancy is still not terminated or that there is left-over tissue in the uterus. In such a case, the doctor may decide that additional medicine or curettage is required.
In general, the treatment will not have any detrimental influence on the following pregnancies. You can expect your next period between 4 and 6 weeks after the abortion.
